I've been working in Paris since mid-January, but every Friday, I take the Eurostar back to London. Finally, I decided to stay the weekend and Ryan came to Paris to hang out.
Our friends Max and Sheel used to live here. We have visited them twice, once on our way to Cinqueterra and another time on our way back from Spain. They moved back to the States two years ago, but they were in Paris visiting last Fall, so I went to Paris the weekend they were there.
Our usual spot is the Marais. The little boutiques, patisseries, and chocolate shops in the district are amazing. We ate falafel from Las Du Falafel, Moroccan food (tagines and couscous) at the L'Arganier, and another falafel shop for falafel and shawarma. Of course we had to get a box of chocolates from our favorite Chocolats Mussy.
From there, we walked all the way to the Champs, via the Lourve gardens. We didn't go into the Lourve as both of us has been to it before. Actually, we've been to just about every hot tourist spot in Paris, so we pretty much just stroll through the Marais, Montmartre (Sacre Coeur) and St.Germaine areas.
One thing to note: When waiting at the side walk for the pedestrian crossing, be sure to stand a good 3 to 5 feet back from the street. I almost got ran over by a zealous driver who was trying to pass up a car beside him on a road meant for one car. So, of course, he drove up the curb and hit my calves.
Here are some pictures from the weekend, March 12 and 13, 2005.
